Published: 17th April 2015TIRUVANNAMALAI:Following the Hyderabad High Court’s order on Thursday, to conduct a re-post mortem of one of the victims, Sasikumar, (after a petition was filed by Sasikumar’s wife), the families of five other victims shot dead in the ‘encounter’ in Seshachalam Reserve Forest, have decided to file separate petitions in Hyderabad, seeking re-post mortem of their loved ones.
All six bodies are currently kept in the mortuary of the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College Hospital. Relatives of the five other victims - S Mahendran’s mother Chithra, M Murugan’s wife Thanchammal, G Murthy’s wife Pachaimma, K Perumal’s wife Selvi and M Munusamy’s wife Pachaimmal - are scheduled to reach Hyderabad on Friday morning to file petitions before the HC bench seeking re-post mortem.
K Balu, counsel of Muniyamma, told Express that “the bench categorically said that (Muniyamma) cannot represent the other five families. There are (at present) no separate petitions seeking fresh post-mortem. So, the plea for conducting re-post mortem on the bodies of the other fives does not arise.” Following this family members of the other five victims are making their way to Hyderabad.
Thanchammal said she was able to identify her husband’s body only by the vest he wore. “My husband was a painter. He wore a vest that came along the large paint container with a logo. There were several cut and burn injuries on his body, and his face was damaged beyond recognition,” she said.
Mahendran’s elder brother Madhavan, said they wanted justice and that the persons responsible for the brutal killing of the 20 persons should be punished.
“Some of the families of the deceased found cut and burn injuries on the bodies,” he said.
